General Information
This website can generally be visited without registration. Personal data, such as name, address or email address, is collected only if you provide it voluntarily, for example via the support area or another explicitly stated contact channel. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your explicit consent.
Cookies
This website uses only technically necessary cookies, especially for session handling where required. These cookies are used to provide basic website functions. According to the current project code, no Google Analytics, Matomo or comparable analytics or advertising tracking service is integrated. No user tracking, behavioral analysis or use for personalized advertising takes place.
Since no optional or non-essential cookies are used, no cookie banner or consent system is required.
External RSS and Atom Feeds
When you enter a feed URL or a normal website address, RSSAtom retrieves the specified address server-side in order to find, fetch and display an RSS or Atom feed. In doing so, technically necessary connection data can be transmitted to the external server. RSSAtom does not translate third-party feed content; feeds are generally displayed in their original language.
Latest Successful Feed Requests
Successfully checked feed sources can appear on the public overview of latest successful feed requests. Feed-related information may be displayed there, for example the requested URL, the discovered feed URL, title, description, feed type, language or encoding, number of feed entries and the time of the successful request. No user IP addresses are publicly displayed there and no personal user profiles are created.
If the entered address contains query parameters, these may also form part of the publicly displayed URL. Parameters identified as sensitive, such as access tokens, API keys or comparable credentials, are removed for public storage and display.
My Feeds
If you save feeds with My feeds, the feed URL, feed title, feed description, number of feed entries and time saved are stored only in the local storage of your browser. RSSAtom does not create an account for this and does not synchronize this list server-side. Saved feeds can be exported and imported locally for backup or transfer to another browser or compatible RSS reader. When you open a saved feed, its feed URL is sent to RSSAtom like any normal reader request. When you open the My feeds page, saved feed URLs that are due for a check can also be sent to RSSAtom in the background to detect new content.
Server Log Files
The hosting provider and the application can collect and store technical information in server log files. Depending on the request, this may include:
- IP address
- date and time
- requested URL
- referrer URL
- user agent and browser information
- technical status, security and error information
These logs are used for technical provision, error analysis, security, abuse and bot detection and functional checks. The processing of this data is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the secure, stable and technically reliable operation of the website, as well as in error analysis and the detection and prevention of abuse and attacks. They are not merged into advertising profiles, are not used for personalized advertising and are not passed on for advertising purposes. A specific retention period is not defined in the application code.
External Content in Feeds
RSSAtom displays content from external RSS and Atom feeds. Texts, links, images and media references can therefore come from the respective feed source. RSSAtom processes and displays this content technically; responsibility for the external feed content generally remains with the respective feed provider.
External Links, Social Media and Donation Services
This website contains simple links to external services, including the support area, eiwen.net, Ko-fi, PayPal and sharing links for platforms such as Facebook, X/Twitter and Reddit. These links connect to the respective external services only when clicked. Only then may personal data, such as your IP address, be transmitted to the respective provider. Further information can be found in the privacy notices of the respective providers.
Your Rights
You generally have the rights of access, rectification, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, withdrawal and objection.
