Behind Every Animal's Eyes Is a Life

So, where is our humanity? Why do so many people not want to wake up to the truth? What pushes us to destroy ourselves? How can we remedy the problem before it is too late?

You and I, as human beings, have the responsibility to protect Earth and all its inhabitants. All animals deserve freedom, respect, dignity, love, empathy, care and life. Believe it or not, the way you eat has a profound effect on your health, the environment and the animals that live on this planet.

The tsunami of diseases which abound is mostly caused by our lifestyle. And the fascinating thing is that the major driving force that creates illnesses is the human dependency on animal nutrition. Yet, behind every animal's eyes is a life you could not end yourself. Am I right?

"Eating death only makes us tired, age faster and get sick. It is bad karma." - K.VD.

The Excessive Animal Consumption

In previous centuries, meat was considered a luxury and average citizens never got it. Then, as time passed, people included it in a meal once a week, often on Sundays. But today, most people can afford it which in a way does not help. Despite all the warnings, they are eating more and more meat.

And in today's life, it is a normal part of most people's diet because it became a tradition. Yet, it links to heart diseases. And I won't talk about dairy products. The excessive consumption of animal-based proteins or processed food damages your body and diminishes your blood supply.

As a fact, years of scientific studies and conclusive evidence prove it. On the other hand, plant-based diets cannot only prevent the progression of heart disease or cancer but can also reverse its effects. No matter your age, you can use plant foods as cure or medicine to avoid many problems later on in life.

Behind Every Animal's Eyes

Obviously, behind every animal's eyes, there is a heart. Yet, when a person murders an animal, it is often called a sport. But when an animal wants to kill a person, it is called ferocity. Yet, when it really comes down to it, humans are the cruelest species. So, aren't we contradicting ourselves?

If you want to live a long and healthy life and contribute something to this world, then you have to act. You only pass through this world but once. And if you can do any good thing or show any kindness to any living creature, do it. Do not neglect it because you will not pass that way again.

So, look deep into any animal's eyes, and then for a moment, trade places. Suddenly, you see their life becomes as precious as yours and you become as vulnerable as them. Now, realize that all animals deserve your respect and your protection, for in a way, they are you, and you are them.

"Animals are my friends and I don't eat my friends." - George Bernard Shaw

The Life in an Animal's Eyes

If you are an animal lover, you probably already know that many animals are extremely intelligent and have emotions. Like humans, countless living creatures develop strong bonds with their young, love them and have friends.

And they even have special calls for the ones they care about, the same way you give your friends and family nicknames.

Yet, most humans only consider animals as food, trophy or objects. Too often, countless people treat them like commodities rather than individuals. So, most of them never get to experience these remarkable bonds. Instead, a lot of human beings expose to a life filled with fear, stress, pain, sadness, and death.

"To my mind, the life of a lamb is no less precious than that of a human being. The more helpless the creature the more that it is entitled to protection by man from the cruelty of man." - Mahatma Gandhi

Animals Are Innocent Souls

An animal's eyes have the power to speak an amazing language when you take the time to look into them. Remember also that compassion for other innocent living beings is the true judge of character. Animals have as much right as us to be here on this planet since they were created along with us.

And whoever said that they were ours to do whatever we please with? You may be a meat-eater; yet, I am not judging you but only trying to show you facts. So, do not mock vegan people as they are just individuals who have the crazy idea that no animal should suffer.

However, humanity can no longer stand by and watch our beautiful animals be used and abused in so many ways. Look in an animal's eyes and make a stand, big or small, personal or public. Do it before it is too late. Remember, it takes nothing away to be kind to these gentle souls.

Do You And Your Pet Communicate Well?

By the grace of the Noble and Supreme Almighty, we, the human beings are blessed with a voice box and a tongue, which help us to communicate our feelings to the others when needed.

We are also blessed with the power to hear and respond to each other's voices. We could conclude that human body is complete in every aspect.

When we talk about animals, we could say that they too have the system of talking and listening but using their languages, which are almost inaccessible to the humans.

In such a case, when you bring home an animal to keep it as a pet, it becomes important that the conversation between you and your pet goes on so that you develop a healthy understanding between you, thereby developing a healthy relationship.

When we talk in this regard, could you tell, what the right way to communicate with a pet is? Or do you use right methods to communicate to your pet?

The answers may be diverse but they conclude on the same note that, it being an animal, needs our maximum love and it will return us whatever we offer it.

Here are some tips on grooming of pets that tell you how to understand their language and in turn develop the bond that you always wanted to have:

Observe The Habits Of Your Pet:

The pets give a lot of signals with their ears, eyes, and face. Therefore, observe these to get about what your pet is feeling. It may be angry at something if it stares at the thing continuously, ready to bark. It may stare its master in need of anything such as food or water. These signals occur with almost all the pets, whether it is a cat or a dog or any other pet. If you are ignorant of the fact, it could lead to many troubles.

Observe the legs and the tail of your pet. It may use its legs to ask for something or simply seek your attention. It may also use it to rub its body which may be an indication of fleas in its coat or itching problems. The dogs and cats use their tails to indicate that they are in good mood by simply wagging them or they hide their tale between rear legs to indicate they are frightened of something.

Observe the postures of your pet, which he uses frequently. For example, if a dog is feeling itchy, it would roll down its body in the dust to clear of the fleas or a cat may lounge on its back either to get a good rest or in a state of anger. It generally depends on pets and their moods that what suits them the best. If you do not observe them, they would themselves find some means to solve their problem which could hurt your scheduled care.

Hear Your Pet's Sounds:

Your pet may be accustomed to a variety of sounds from you, but are limited to a single language as far as their tongue is concerned. Though the words they speak sound similar almost all the times, they may be distinct.

Your dog may bark, growl, howl or snarl at times. There are various reasons associated with each sound it utters, such as a loud pitched bark shows that it is aggressive and it also shows that it is communicating something to a well-acquainted person. It may howl at times when it feels lonely or gets physically or mentally hurt.

A cat may also use its meow to indicate various reactions such as a low-pitched sound from it may indicate that it is angry or hungry. It is your responsibility to understand the difference amongst these and solve its problem.

Exchange Conversation Notes With Your Pet:

Talk to your pet and make him feel the variation of tones in your voice. You could use a stern tone to make it follow your orders or serve some purpose and also use the soft tone to praise it or when offering it food. The pet would understand the difference in the tones and would respond in the same manner.

Using of sign languages such as gestures from your hand etc. may also offer a good medium of conversation. These sign languages will help it get the command in an effective manner. You could use hand gestures to make a dog sit or stand or go away and you could also use it for the cat.

Do not punish your pet, either with your tone or physically. Using loud words and beating may discourage its morale.

Using the above pet grooming tips, you could understand how to communicate with your pet in an effective manner such that you bear a healthy bond with it.

Tips For Breeding Rabbits

The breeding stock should be selected when they reach 4 to 5 months of age. The breeder should be selected from the largest litter. In males, it is very essential to see the presence of two testicles in the scrotum as testicles descend down from the body cavity at 12 weeks of age.

1. Extensive type of reproduction:-

Weaning here practiced is 5 to 6 weeks and re-breeding soon after weaning. Does are therefore mated once every 2.5 months. This is the best suited for tropical countries like India.

2. Semi intensive reproduction

Weaning is practised at 4-5 weeks of age. Breeding is practised after 10-20 days after kindling.

3. Intensive reproduction

Weaning is at 4 weeks of age. Mating is done immediately after kindling. Usually this practise is followed in western countries.

Always females should be put to the pen of male to avoid fighting. Mating should be done during coolest part of the day like early morning or late evening. After successful mating the male usually produces a typical cry sound and falls down on one side of the female. Soon after the mating the male one should be removed from the cage. The male should not be more than 3 to 4 days in a week and not more than 2 to 3 times in a day. The ratio of male to female is 1:10. Both the sexes should reach 70% of their adult body weight.

The breeding season is almost throughout year. But in India, autumn stress is encountered during hot weather.

Signs of heat in females

1. Restlessness, Rubbing the chin on the sides of the cage.

2. Lying in mating posture

3. They are spontaneous ovulators. Ovulation begins 10 hours after mating.

4. In heat, the female rabbit accepts male, otherwise it rejects.

5. In heat, the female assumes a typical pose called "lordosis" where the back is arched downward and hind quarter is raised.

6. The female one in di-estrous phage crouch at the corner of the cage.

7. After kindling (parturition), the re breeding happens after one week in intensive management. But normally re-mating is shown one week before weaning.
